Get involved

There are lots of incredible projects to get involved in, but this is also a call for action: Quaker Rainbow needs you!

Create allyship resources

Work with us and Woodbrooke to develop resources for Local Meetings on practicing inclusion and allyship!

Can you provide resource recommendations or content suggestions, look over materials, contribute your own story and experience, or test out Woodbrooke’s drafts?

If interested, please contact the Amplifying Our Message working group via aom@quaker-rainbow.org.uk or our Contact Us page.

Woodbrooke has lots of ways to get involved depending on your availability, please get in touch to learn more!

Help plan our next residential event

Our next Quaker Rainbow in-person gathering needs members to help plan it!

We are collaborating with Quaker Voluntary Action (QVA) to plan and run a residential for queer Quakers. Most of the administrative duties are in hand, we just need your brilliant ideas!

What do you want Quaker Rainbow’s residential event to be like? Please contact the Amplifying Our Message working group via aom@quaker-rainbow.org.uk or our Contact Us page with your contributions and to get involved!

Contribute to our trans+ advocacy project

Minute 31 of BYM 2021 calls upon all Quakers to welcome trans, non-binary, and gender diverse people within our meetings. Quaker Rainbow is responding to this call by creating a book/pamphlet exploring the experiences of our trans+ Friends and their allies.

The aim of this publication is to tell our stories to foster greater understanding and come to know each other at a deeper spiritual level.

The hope is that this book will encourage and support trans+ Quakers and their allies by providing material for individuals and meetings to explore issues around inclusion, looking for conversation rather than consensus.

We are seeking contributions showcasing the humanity of trans+ people and the experience of allies which could include:

  • our faith journeys
  • the support we have received and the challenges we have faced
  • the contributions that we make in our communities and across the world.

Contributions can be personal stories, poetry, etc. from trans and non-binary people and allies. Send any questions and contributions to the Amplifying Our Message working group (via aom@quaker-rainbow.org.uk or our Contact Us page) by 30th June.
